A Decade Through Portraits
This project is a photo collection, A Decade Through Portraits, which was created to be used as an interview system for individuals I felt had a lot to express about the last ten years.
Inspired by Jim Goldberg, I utilized the personality handwriting as a contrast to the formal (and informal) portraits. Bringing in a raw, authentic variable into the work brought feelings of honesty and vulnerability to the subject's answers. I asked them many questions and collaborated with them to find the best, most insightful answer.
Who did you love the most in the past decade? What was your greatest change? What was your worst change? Who did you kiss the most? What object did you touch the most? Who are you going to miss the most? What was the most influential moment? Where was your peak in the 2010's? Where were your valleys? Have you changed for the better?
